TATTOO COURSE

On the Complete Tattoo Course, students learn both theory and practical elements of tattooing, setting them up for success in the industry.

Students can expect to learn:​

Week 1

​

An introduction to the course and what will be taught on each day • An introduction into the history of tattooing • Types of tattoo machines and how they have evolved • In-depth explanations of tattoo needles, tubes and cartridges • A breakdown of tattoo codes and needle formations • The process of tattooing •  Preparing the skin for tattooing • Tattoo procedures • Tattoo station hygiene • Setting up your tattoo equipment • Breaking down your station and equipment • The anatomy of the skin • Legal requirements • Identifying infections and causes • Legislation relating to tattooing and the workplace • Numbing creams and sprays • Infection prevention and control • Hand hygiene and correct washing techniques • PPE • Sharps management • Exposure to blood and body fluids • Needle stick injuries • Blood borne viruses • Correct disposal of offensive waste • Demonstration of the stencil process on live skin • Creating you own stencils • Applying those stencils onto live skin and fake skin ​

Week 2

Practical demonstrations in setting up a station • Lining on fake skin • Breakdown on a tattoo station • Shading on fake skin • Other shading techniques • Practice lining on fake skin with your custom designs • Practice shading your designs • Practice colour and grey scale techniques • Practicing your design from start to finish aiming to complete at least one complete tattoo • Tattooing live models with the designs you have practiced across the week • Course debrief • Professional feedback • Graduation ceremony • Certificate presentation • Final class photos and video reviews

All students will be given the opportunity to practice tattooing on live models on the final day of the course.
